Two fine sketchbooks, prepared for important early patrons. The Castle in the Air is a fantasy house designed for his family friend Barbara Webb, who had introduced Lutyens to his first client, but who was now terminally ill. The second sketchbook has a design for Gertrude Jekyll that she rejected as being too grand for a spinster; Lutyens then designed the house that was to become famous as Munstead Wood
