440 boxes and volumes, as well as charters and deeds there are papers of notable Suffolk antiquaries, borough and manorial records, plans and surveys. There are also 78 boxes of papers of the Cornwallis family, from 13th century manorial deeds to an Indian letter book of an 18th century Earl Cornwallis, when Governor General of Bengal.
