Over 8,000 architectural prints, mostly 19th century: steel and copper engravings, and lithographs, predominantly issued loose, i.e. not cut out of books. Often issued to promote an architects work or to raise funds for the erection of a building, the prints constitute in many cases the only record of lost or unbuilt structures. They provide contmporary illustrations of the work of all the important architects of the 19th century as well as representing the work of many lesser and obscure figures. Illustrated at p.15 of AR
