Letters relating to the embassy of Thomas Bruce, 7th Earl of Elgin, at Constantinople in the first decade of the 19th century. The correspondence is between Lord Elgin’s mother, the Dowager Lady Elgin, and his mother-in-law, Mrs Hamilton Nisbet, and includes the period in which Lord and Lady Elgin were in Greece. in 1802.
