20 good letters ; two in particular are packed with comment on the doings of contemporaries in the Royal Academy, to which Roberts had been elected as Associate in 1838 and as Academician in 1841. In another letter he writes of a picure he is painting of our dear little Queen. There is also a fascinating memorandum on travel in Palestine compiled by Roberts with a view to helping Emerson Tennent follow in his footsteps in the Levant
