The collection of papers includes two volumes of letters from the Duke of Wellington written during the Peninsula campaign (Cotton was the leader of his cavalry force). There is also a volume of papers relating to Bhurtpore 1825-6 containing copies of Combermeres dispatches to Lord Amherst during the siege
