As well as the manorial deeds and rental books in this collection there are three court rolls for the special court known as the Hethewarmoot for 1422 - 1481. This court was set up to administer the jurisdiction of Leiston Abbey over all wrecked goods washed up on the coast between the Minsmere and Hundred rivers. All local ships masters were compelled to serve on the jury of this court which therefore yields much information on the Suffolk coastal fishing industry
