11 autograph letters from Rosina Bulwer Lytton to Alfred Edward Chalon, portrait and subject painter, 1854-60. The letters contain society news and gossip, literary allusions, comments on politics and much else, including her notorious open feud with her husband, Edward Bulwer Lytton, whose attempt to commit her to a mental institution was thwarted by a public outcry.
