Extract from 1935  FNL Annual Report:

A grant from the Friends of National Libraries A grant from the Friends of the the National Libraries enabled advantage to be taken taken of the offer by a bookseller to the Royal Institute of British Architects of  an album album of miscellaneous and drawings from Sir  Thomas Phillipps's collection, which passed through the sale room last year.  The public spirit of  the Royal Institute suggested that, that rather than acquire them for the RIBA itself, it would be possession better to place the two Wren drawings of Cathedral in the Cathedral itself, where they would join the great bulk of the Cathedral drawings join the great bulk of the Cathedral drawings other than those at All Souls College , Oxford. This suggestion was heartily approved by the Committee of the FNL, and accepted by the by Dean Chapter of St. Paul ' s , who contributed , together with the FNL, towards the purchase. R I the F N L towards the purchase . Arthur Of the two Wren drawings, one at east is in the opinion of Mr. Arthur T . Bolton, the Editor of the Wren Society, and Mr. Godfrey Allen the Society Surveyor to the Fabrick of the Cathedral, among the most interesting of the documents relating to Wren's 's work on the Cathedral that that exists .
