Total price paid is for 12 manuscripts and 83 printed books. The other MSS acquired were Secreta Secretorum (Holkham MS 458) written for presentation to Edward III 1326; a magnificent Latin Bible (Holkham MS 7) owned by the Anti-Pope Clement VII; early 9th century MS of the Orations of Cicero (Holkham MS 387) made at the monastery of Cluny; Latin Gospels also from the 9th century (Holkham MS 17) written for the Abbey of Schuttern in Bavaria; an early 11th century compilation of Roman and Visigothic Law (Holkham MS 210); a late 12th century treatise on land surveying: Agrimensores Romani (Holkham MS 411) and a bilingual Psalter (Holkham MS 22) written in Greek and Latin in parallel columns; Poggios Facetiae written in 1461 by Felice Feliciano (Holkham MS 480); early 16th century group of treatises headed by a sermon of St John Chrysostom (Holkham MS 70) and lastly Holkham MS 750 a large sheet of vellum cut from an 11th century Bible or Psalter containing coloured drawings of musical instruments mentioned in the Old Testament.
