The 13th century manuscript Bible is the only known manuscript to survive from the cell of Durham at Stamford. Written in Latin on 437 vellum leaves with numerous notes and annotations in medieval hands. The Roll consists of 65 pieces of paper pasted on linen and describes The Rites of Durham', a brief declaration of all the ancient monuments, rites and customs belonging to the church of Durham before the suppression of the Monasteries.
