The Sierra Leone papers relate to the activities of George Rickards, who came to Freetown aged 13 in 1802, was engaged as a clerk in the Sierra Leone Company, appointed Secretary to the Governor and Council of Sierra Leone in 1808, held various other posts, and returned to England in 1811. The Jamaica document is a conveyance of two-thirds an estate called Raymonds in the Parish of Vere, Jamaica, to William Holt of Liverpool, reciting details of the ownership of the estate from 1792 onwards.
