MS letter from Coleridge to Colonel Moore about Mary Robinson, the Maid of Buttermere, who had been bigamously married to James Hatfield in 1802. The Mostyn Owens were an Anglo Welsh family with estates on the borders of the two countries. The early papers reveal much about the survival of Welsh place and personal names in north west Shropshire. There are also rentals for Shrewsbury in the 17th and 18th centuries of interest to economic historians

Repton invented a system of showing his clients before and after effects on their parkland landscapes by means of watercolour pictures with added paper flaps or fliers which could be turned back to reveal the improvements. There is little else extant from Heathfield, so the survival of the Red Book is of some importance

These newsbooks were in effect the earliest English newspapers. This collection is of extreme value to historians since it contains Rushworths manuscript annotations commenting on the accuracy, or lack of it, in his contemporaries versions of events
The ledgers are day books with invoices transcribed in chronological order, each describing individually the pictures worked on. They give information about work done on famous pictures that are in national collections today, but they also reveal the composition of collections of a large number of minor figures
Both letters written by Clare to his home in Northborough, one during a visit to London, one in his asylum period, the last known from his hand. The sonnet is an early version of a published poem (which is not recorded in AR). The collection also included the MSS of Blunden's life of Clare.
